Are you passionate about supporting second chances and helping individuals access education opportunities? If so, you'll be excited to learn more about our non-profit organization called New Directions Education Project. Our initiative focuses on providing funding for college courses to adults who are currently incarcerated, giving them a valuable opportunity to turn their lives around and build a brighter future.

New Directions Education Project (NDEP) has been providing funds for college classes to adults in custody (AICs) who are housed at Eastern Oregon Correctional Intuition (EOCI) for more than 24 years. Our funding has helped approximately 1,185 AICs achieve a "new direction" while being incarcerated. We currently have 20 AICs in our program, and we are now partnered with Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) who holds the education contract with the Department of Corrections (DOC) at EOCI.

We are seeking funding to help our current AICs in the program continue their academic endeavors this fall. We have turned to you for help because you are a great proponent of helping the incarcerated become successful citizens of our community.

The bottom line:

We currently have 20 AICs we sponsor.

The price per credit is $126 + books

Books are an estimated cost of $100/student.

The classes that are being offered are 4-Credit classes, so the total estimated cost is $504 + $100 (books) = $604 per student or a total of $12,080 to fund all 20 students.

It is our goal to see all 20 AICs attend classes this fall!

If you are looking to make a difference and support second chances through education, getting involved with New Directions Education Project is a meaningful way to do so. Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, or simply spread the word about their mission, every action counts towards creating a more inclusive and supportive community for all. Together, we can help make a positive impact and provide hope for a better tomorrow.
